The Seven Tools of Transformation
Methods of Journaling

more Journaling Methods from our visitors

I do my journaling online. Some people call this blogging. After I read about Journaling on your web, I got a domain name through ProsperityWebs.org for about $10, hosted it at ScienceHosting.com and began writing about my life. Pretty soon I was also using my web as a calendar so that I could look up my schedule from any computer. Then I started keeping a to do list online and a list of important phone numbers. I was also writing out my notes on things that I found that were helpeful to me such as quotes from Spiritual Masters and Lamas and Dharma stories. I have begun to include my prayers and meditations as well.

Since I am journaling online I also include digital pictures. I have pictures that I have taken and also pictures that I have found. This has helped me to create a resource for myself. Maybe other people are looking at my web but I did it just for myself. For me it is easier to type and I now have a resource that I can get to from any computer that is linked up!

I think the most important thing that I have done is to write down my goals and plans to reach those goals. This has helped me to really change a lot in my life. I have been able to achieve a great deal because the writing helps me to understand my goals as well.

My name is Kirsten and I am new to this spritual path. I have tried many different avenues but I enjoy the 7 Tools approach the best. . I have two journals: one online and one that I write in everyday. My online journal is at livejournal and my paper one is actually a 400-page sketch book with blank pages, bond not wired. I must say that my online journal has really turned into a written account of my days and a place where I vent and ask for advice.. Whereas, my written journal has become soooo much more therapuetic...Something about sitting with myself away from all distractions with the book of my thoughts resting in my lap, a pen to write down my thoughts in my hand, a heart with feelings and a head with suggestions. There is something about being able to take my notebook with me and letting all of my ideas flow throughout my body onto a real page that has added significance that I haven't been able to detect in my blog. Don't get me wrong...I love my blog and I really enjoy writing it too l but my paper journal is more personal, probably because I don't put it online... By the way, my paper journal is plain green on the outside...The color "green" is significant to me because it signals growth. =)
